Dell Vostro 1500 Laptop Repair

This first Dell Vostro laptops have been arriving for repair and upgrades already.

This week we had a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop come in. The unit was only a month old but when our customer called Dell they told them that they had dropped the laptop and now it wouldn't turn on. That was a mistake, the unit is now flagged as out of warranty. Almost all laptops get dropped- the unit shows NO damage at all; if our customer hadn't informed Dell about the drop they probably could've shipped it in for repair. Oh well, at least they were honest.

We were able to get them a motherboard for only $249 for this almost new machine. We passed the motherboard along at our cost to the nice people and added labor to the repair bill and it was done in a few days.

HP Laptop No Display problem DV1000/V2000/ZE2000/others

No display problem on HP DV1000, V2000, M2000, ZE2000 and others, fixed.

We've been getting several of the above models in with no display. The problem may be caused by a bad LCD cable, bad inverter, bad LCD backlight or even a motherboard problem. We can repair 99% of these $149 or less. The problem is sometimes, but not usually, the backlight. We have a page that details our backlight repair. HP DV6000 Power Jack Problem Fixed


HP DV6000 Power Jack Problem Fixed!

The HP DV6000 laptops are now out of warranty and showing up here. These have a neat blue LED light just above the power jack. If the blue LED is not lit or only lights up when the jack is positioned in a certain direction the jack is likely bad and needs to be replaced. We now carry this jack (among nearly all other jacks made) in stock. The jack can be repaired here under our flat rate power jack repair service which is $149. Don't let anyone tell you that you need a motherboard, this particular jack doesn't even reside on the motherboard; it is located on what we refer to as a "daughter board".

Water!

We're normally eager to get into the office on Monday morning but sometimes there is a surprise there waiting. Today we had one of those surprises. Our hot water heater sprung a leak at one point this weekend. The entire office was in water about a half inch deep. Our landlord quickly had a plumber on the scene to repair the hot water heater. Customers stopping in to see us noticed the sopping wet floor as soon as they walked through the front door. Absolutely none of our customer equipment or other electronics are stored on the floor.

We didn't need that water but today we also received some much needed water in the form of rain. It will put a small dent into our drought.
