Dell Precision M90 bad video card

We have had more Precision M90s in lately with bad video cards.
the latest one was still under Dell warranty. Upon trying to get the parts covered under warranty, Dell informed us that they are out of the video cards and can not get more. They said the Precision M90 laptops under warranty that have a bad video card will be replaced. We are currently waiting to see what they are going to replace it with. We just know it will be something similar or newer. This blog post will be updated once we have more information.
For Precision M90 laptops with a bad video card that are out of warranty, well, not so good news. We have found a few but they seem to go for $400 - $500 when they are available.

I was also just informed that they do not have a replacement video card for my M90 and that I would have to wait 16-20 weeks for one to come in. Like you, they offered a replacemnt machine but said that could take between 5-15 days! Curious, what did they offer you.

As far as we know they do not have and will not have any video cards for this ever again.
It sounds like your M90 is still under warranty. If so, take the new machine!
As for the machine we were trying to warranty, it is still sitting here, unresolved, after 3mos. At the moment they tell us they will not cover the machine because we do not know the company name of who it belongs to. We checked with the company that owns the laptop and they have no idea what the warranty people are talking about. As of now this is just a $4000 brick. But if you're the original owner you should have no problem getting it covered under warranty.

I have a dell precision M90 workstation laptop, and I have replaced the [Nvidia Quadro FX 2500] video card three times now. Is there an equivalent or better replacement video card for the M90? I have read about many failures related to this same video card, but no suggestions for an alternative. My warranty is currently expired. Please help.

I want to say you can use a Dell 9400 ATI graphics card in there but it has been a while.. It will last longer than the nVDIA.. We can order them for you here, too, but htye're not cheap, usually around $300..
